The event, which took place at GSK House in west London, was an opportunity for coaches and coachees to come together, reflect on their progress and celebrate their development. For the coachees, participating in the Developing Leaders Coaching programme was an amazing opportunity to be coached by a professionals from GSK, who could provide advice and guidance informed by their own experiences as professionals with a successful career in business.
For the coaches, learning to coach the young people using the CAUSE coaching model provided an excellent way to develop their leadership skills. Moreover, working with young people from socially and ethnically diverse backgrounds allowed them to speak to talent that they would not typically have access to.
The Impact of Coaching
A highlight of the celebration event was hearing the coachee’s talk about their experiences on the programme. Matt Cooper, Arrival Education’s Programmes Manager, noted how the coachees “gave extremely accomplished presentations and it was fantastic to hear how great an impact their coaching experience has had on them”. As well as hearing from the coachees, everyone who attended the event also had the pleasure of hearing from Benoit Alsteens who is the Senior Vice President (Finance) for Pharma Supply Chain at GSK.
Coachees were awarded certificates of completion to commemorate their time on the programme and coaches and coachees were encouraged to stay in touch following the programme. Looking ahead to the coming year, Arrival Education is excited to launch a new coaching programme with GSK, which we have no doubt will be as successful as this one!
