Tell us why you applied to Arrival Education?

It was actually the job description that grabbed me! I had spent 6 months outside of an operational role and – believe it or not – I had come to miss the meetings, plannning, to-do lists and spreadsheets. After finding a job description that ticked all my boxes I couldn’t believe my luck when the company turned out to be doing some amazing stuff too!

Why do you think the work we do at Arrival Education is important?

Having experienced working in HR and Recruitment, it made me aware of the lack of diversity in a lot of organisations. Also, despite good intentions, I not sure that Diversity and Inclusion is tackled in the most effective or successful manner, which is preventing a huge pool of incredibly bright, capable and passionate talent from reaching their potential.

I think the work Arrival Education does is incredibly important to increase social mobility and educate businesses on alternative pathways to access talent.

What are you up to when you’re not working?

The majority of my time is taken up by my very big pet, Joey. I gave up horses when I moved to London almost 10 years ago, but took the plunge again at the beginning of 2017 and found myself an ex-racehorse to take on as a project. There are lots of early mornings (no, you never get used to it!) and plenty of blood, sweat, and tears but it’s incredibly rewarding and I’m very lucky to have him.

We compete in Eventing (mixed results) but it’s all a work in progress and I aim to do this once or twice a month. I also have a season ticket at Leicester City FC, so Saturday afternoons are spent up in Leicester or following them away from home whenever possible.

If you could have a 1:2:1 with anyone living or dead, who would it be?

Ohh I’m struggling with this! There are so many people that I admire but I can’t manage to single one out. Those who have been involved in unsolved mysteries would be great to meet, so we would get closure or the people who’ve had huge historical/scientific impact on the world. Far too many to choose from!
